Jesus was beardless according Found 300's portrait. Archaeologists in Spain say they have found one of the earliest known portraits of Jesus, engraved on a glass slide which dates back to 300's, writes the BBC. The glass slide shows a picture of Jesus that differs considerably from later depictions. According to El Mundo lack the Son of God beard of the portrait and has short hair.
Always when they get new "revealing" and insights, go to the Bible to see if it is true.
Isa 50: 6
I gave my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard . I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Scripture is about Jesus' suffering during his crucifixion. It says clearly that he has a beard: "... tore out my beard."
The image on the glass plate from the 300's, depicted Jesus as well as a short cut. How about this? Has he not long hair?
The fact is that there is nowhere in the Bible that Jesus has long hair. But it says this:
His head and hair were white like white wool, as snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire.
In Jesus' time, says historical engines to hårmodet for men was cut short and many men were clean-shaven. But what about Jesus? We know from the Bible that he wears a beard, but what about his long hair? The Bible says nothing about what length his hair is.
But there is a suggestion that Jesus' head hair is short:
1 Cor 11: 14-15
Do not learn the nature you that it is a shame for a man to have long hair but an honor for a woman, because she's got hair that veil?
This scripture of Paul, I thought several times that I've seen videos and pictures where Jesus is depicted with long hair. Or that his disciples are depicted with long hair, even though Paul says in the Bible that men have short hair. Should we go after Paul's words that Jesus has short hair.
Paul shaved his hair
It is interesting to note that the Bible actually mentions Paul's hair. Because of the promise the Bible says that he did shave off all his hair , before traveling to Syria.
Paul stayed in Corinth for some time before he took leave of the brethren and sailed for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. In Cenchrea he had previously let shave her head , as he passed a promise.
But it says nothing about how long his hair before he shaved off it. Probably it is not particular true description of Paul in the apocryphal scripture " Paul and Theklas deeds " which he described as small, bald and bowlegged, with a long nose and the adult eyebrows . As for his "baldness" so says the Bible that he had hair because he could shave it. Faith in the Bible and not on some extra-biblical teachings!
The men were cut short
In Jesus' time the men were cut short and many men were clean-shaven. Contemporary hair fashion among men of Romans and Jews were cut short.
All Roman emperors, before, during and after the time of Jesus, from Julius Caesar to Trajan, bar short hair. All statues of Roman legionnaires show them with bobbed hair.
Statues and other depictions of Jewish men of Jesus' day demonstrates that this fashion was also among the Jews. One of the oldest images of Jesus - where he is portrayed as a shepherd with a lamb on his shoulder - is a short cut, Jesus.
"Is the color of ripe chestnuts, plain almost to the ears but falls over them in waves and curls with a faint bluish sheen and it hangs down over the shoulders. It is parted in the middle at the crown."
This forged letter from the 1200s, we read that Jesus had long hair. But since we know that it is a forgery, we can also not rely on that.
It is better to trust the Bible. It says that Jesus has a beard. It also says that Jesus actually hair. He's not bald. Paul suggests that Jesus' hair is cut short.
