When he had brought me, I stood and talked with one of the leaders in the Pentecostal church at the entrance named Donald. Then he asked: "Do you want to be saved?" Although I did not know what this was for something I said ...
A friend of mine took me to the Pentecostal church in a morning meeting a Sunday. As I said in the last chapter, I understood nothing of the meeting.
Next Sunday my friend took me again. I knew as much then. So nothing. But I knew so much that it was something about Jesus that I needed.
This was not really on any particular Jesus preaching in the meeting. I realized, however, that there was something about Jesus that I needed. God had for years sought me and worked my heart.
After the meeting, I went out to the parking lot and waited for my friend. When he was on his way out of the Pentecostal church, he met a missionary who earlier had asked him at a camp meeting to salvation. My friend told her that he had a friend with him who needed to be saved, but that now he stands out in the parking lot.
"But get him then!" the missionary said to my friend ..
When he had brought me, I stood and talked with one of the leaders in the Pentecostal church at the entrance named Donald. Then he asked:
"Do you want to be saved?"
Although I did not know what this was for something I replied:
Then came Donald with me into the church hall again where it is now not so much people left after the meeting. The pastor of the congregation named Claes thought I ran with them. "For so easy, it is well not to get people saved?" he thought when he saw Donald come with me in the church hall.
In front of the church at the stage, on the left side of the first bench, I bend my knee with several people around me.
Johnny, the new youth pastor, knelt beside me while the others standing around. He asked me:
"Are you used to be?"
But it was not. Then Johnny said:
"I pray before, so ask for. In that prayer takes you accept Jesus and be saved. "
This, I thought sounded good, but just before we were to ask, I thought: Maybe this is a scam all of it but then it turns out well.
The people who were around me, put his hands on my back and on my shoulders. I drilled down his face in my hands against the worn, brown pew and prayed Johnny before and I asked for:
Jesus, I come to you now. Jesus, I receive you now. Jesus, I confess you as my Lord. I believe you died for my sins. I believe that God raised you from the dead. Forgive all my sins. Thank you Jesus that you now have saved me. Thank you, Jesus, you now have forgiven all my sins. Thank you that I am now a child of God. Amen.
I saw no angels or other visions nor heard any voices, but afterward I breathed out and thought, Phew, now it was done!
There, right there and right then, I was saved and my life was transformed. I would never be the same person! The fact is that salvation in place immediately when I received the living person of Jesus Christ in my life. It is the greatest miracle I have ever been through.
When I talk about this event people usually say that it was not a church that helped me. Nor any teaching, no pastor or some other people, but it was the living Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
It was only when Jesus came into my heart. It was only when he made salvation during and forgave all my sins.
Ever since that moment, I understood the importance of that one must accept Jesus if we are to be saved.
My testimony in Norway
Before concluding this section, I want to tell you about a small event in Norway I recently was involved. In a camp meeting I had the opportunity to talk about how I was saved. I told him about the events in Ljungby and I did not understand anything about the meetings, but I still knew it was something about Jesus that I needed.
When I told him that I accepted Jesus and was saved applauded all the people who sat and listened! Yes, it's worth a round of applause when a person gets saved, for it is a wonderful miracle that Jesus does.
You receive Jesus with his words
I also told in the context of how it was to be saved. You receive Jesus with his words. It is said directly to Jesus that you now accept Him as their Savior and Lord. And as an example of this I how to be married.
When you get married you say to his future before the meeting that it now accepts him as her true husband or wife to love in sickness and in health. It receives the person with his words. If you say this not as one is not married.
In the same way, you have to say to Jesus that you now accept Him and you will be saved. Examples of it did you read above in the quoted prayer that I prayed when I got saved when I was 20 years old. Jesus came into my heart, saved me and forgiven all my sins.
Similarly, Jesus comes into your heart, saves you, forgives all your sins when you receive him with your mouth!
